Class 1: Making Fire with Flint and Steel
TEACHER: Lord Vrank von Attendorn

DESCRIPTION: You would like to start your fire as it was done 1000 years ago? This class will give you a possibility to accomplish that. Starting with materials used, to generating sparks and finally creating a flame - Lord Vrank will not only give you the theoretical background but also first practice.

Class 2: Cartography in Fine Arts and Research

DESCRIPTION: The Royal Artisan Lord Rakonczay will teach you how to study medieval maps and how to draw them your self.

Class 3: Target archery rules and test for new marshals

DESCRIPTION: Our Kingdom Target Archery Marshal will go with you through the main parts of the new Drachenwald Handbook and society level rules. And for those who are willing to be new Target Archery Marshals there will be a test.

Class 4: Make your own silk banner!
TEACHER: Lady Anna Syveken
DURATION: 1,5h
DESCRIPTION: How to paint a silk banner (140x45 cm) without having the impractical frames around. Let's embellish the feast hall with our new banners in the evening! Should you have a nice (simple) motif on paper, bring it with you to University and then onto the silk.
This class is limited to 5-6 participants, please reserve beforehand at syveken@yahoo.de

Class 5: Get fit for battle

DESCRIPTION: This class will touch upon fitness related issues for SCA combat. Although it is mainly meant for heavy combat it might be useful for period fencers too. The class tries to convey methods and exercises to become better fighter through fitness training.

Class 10: Burgundian Woven Necklace
TEACHER: Lady Himiltrude fan Austrasia
DURATION: 1h
DESCRIPTION: Learn about Burgundian necklaces through portraits and beginn to weave your own. There are supplies for 5 people but more are welcome to listen to the class.
THINGS TO BRING: Cost for supplies are 10 Euros, that need to be paid to the teacher before class starts. Information on how to get in contact with the teacher will be given on site.
Class 11: A review of the Luttrell Psalter – restricted to 10 participants
TEACHER: Lady Genevieve la flechiere
DURATION: 1 hour (45 min)
DESCRIPTION: A brief survey of the Luttrell Psalter facsimile: this class gives you a chance to see a complete and full-size reproduction of the Luttrell Psalter, as it is today. Discussion will cover dating, patronage, artists, and some favourite illuminations. Class is limited to 10 people, to give everyone enough viewing time of the facsimile.

DESCRIPTION: This lesson is for the illuminator of intermediate to advanced skill level, who aspires to create 'convincingly' period, original miniatures.

Class 13: Introductory Calligraphy
TEACHER: Lady Aryanhwy merch Catmael
DURATION: 1h
DESCRIPTION: This is a hands-on class where we will see many different styles of medieval calligraphy and focus on learning two of the simpler ones: carolingian miniscule and uncial. The course is geared towards beginners who have done little, if any, calligraphy before, and will discuss both lettering technique and techniques for designing and spacing texts for scrolls.
THINGS TO BRING: Please bring calligraphy pens, if you have them (though it's not required, as the teacher brings some spares), a pencil and eraser, and a ruler (if you have one); the teacher will supply the ink and paper.
Class 14: Apicius revealed (roman cookery)

DESCRIPTION: Come along and learn how to plan and execute a well-balanced Roman feast, with dishes from the exquisite to the bizarre.

DESCRIPTION: This is a hands on class. Together with your teacher you will cook a real meal outside over an open fire.

DESCRIPTION: This class is aimed at the total beginner. Everything shall be taught from scratch, including flirtation and other social niceties.

DESCRIPTION: This class is aimed at dancers with some experience who are looking for more of a challenge.

Class 18: Tabletweaving beyond basics
TEACHER: Johanna aff Hucka
DURATION: 1-1,5h
DESCRIPTION: Do you know how to thread a tabletweaving warp? Have you made a few bands by yourself and want to learn something new? In this class we proceed from basics to the intermediate tablet weaving: brocade, doubleturn doubleface, kivrim, Egyptian diagonal. All of these are much easier than they sound! If you know how to thread a warp and how to weave it, that's all you need. All techniques will be shown first and then you can find out, which one you like best. The fast continuous warping method can be implemented with these techniques and will be demonstrated as well.

Class 19: Sticks to swords - how to improve the looks of your rattan
arsenal
TEACHER: Lord William Gifford

DESCRIPTION: This class will cover techniques and materials you can use to build rattan weapons that look more like the "real thing". One major focus will be shaped rattan sword blades made from oversized rattan, but mass weapon and polearm construction will be covered as well, ranging from weapon design and proportions to the use of leather, rigid foam and split-rattan construction to achieve the desired shape.

Class 20: “Klosterstich”

DESCRIPTION: : This is a hands on class where the teacher will show you the “Klostestich” .
THINGS TO BRING: Please bring your embroidery frames, needles, some fabric and wool.
Class 21: Drafting a sleeve pattern
TEACHER: Katherina Mornewegh
DURATION: 1-2h
DESCRIPTION: : How to draft a pattern for a narrow sleeve with a sleeve cap and one (Herjolfnes) or two seams (for late period). We will discuss where and how the armhole and sleeve cap need to be fitted to the body of the wearer, why a modern sleeve cannot work in tight fitting garments, and find a relieving answer to the question why a historic sleeve, even if properly fitted, will always look strange to our eyes.
This class is for the intermediate to advanced sewer who has worked with paper patterns before.
THINGS TO BRING: Nothing, there will be handouts so that you can listen without having to draw everything.
Class 22: "The Square Aramaic Script of the Hebrews"
TEACHER: Lady Lyonet de Covenham of Thames Ditton in the County of Surrey
DURATION: 1h
DESCRIPTION: : This is an in-persona class on Hebrew calligraphy comparing it to Latin calligraphy. Lady Lyonet de Covenham holds the Order of the Willow (Middle Kingdom) for calligraphy and has a Doctor of Philosophy in history from the University of Oxford in modern life.
THINGS TO BRING: The teacher will try to find some quills but people are welcome to bring their own pens and ink.
